Before continuing, I want to acknowledge the harm in several of Dr. Seuss’ books. Opportunities to learn/unlearn are critical in anyone’s anti-racism journey. Rather than ignore Dr. Seuss’ hurtful past, I share this article for background and as an opportunity for my readers to grow: https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/dr-seuss-books-publication-racist-images-1.5933033
So here we are, my friends – another Friday, another check-in. And I thought I would share an update on the traffic on my blog. Since starting about six weeks ago, I have had readers in the following countries: Canada, USA, South Korea, Romania, Italy, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic, France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain. Pretty cool – thanks to everyone who is supporting me on this journey. It’s really fun. I hope you continue to enjoy it, too. There is no me without you.
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! was Dr. Seuss’ last published book during his lifetime. The book concerns the journey of life, its challenges, and joys – sometimes things will be wonderful, sometimes there will be challenges. Unlike other Dr. Seuss books, this one uses the future tense. Wonder why it’s the title to this blog?
For me, the most relevant part of the story is when the protagonist comes to a place called “The Waiting Place”. This place is one where everyone is always waiting for something to happen.
Sitting around and waiting?
We’ve talked about waiting… Please see “Do or do not. There is no try.” for more Life Lessons with Boyd. Alice never waited. Nor should you.
Earlier this week, we shared in the following:
Speaking of Rabbit Holes
As adults, why have we made things so complicated for Alice? For ourselves? Call your friend and tell them how much you care about them. They need to hear it. And you need to be the one to tell them.
Julius, Brutus & Titus
Love & loyalty – if you don’t have a dog, get one. If you can’t get a dog, go to a dog park this weekend, and watch love and loyalty at play. And tell that friend you care.
“I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me, they are the role model for being alive.”
